February and March: AHUMC Warming Center

We will be welcoming medically fragile homeless women to a warm, daytime environment during winter weather while they aim to improve their personal situations.

We would like each of you who is able to contribute to this all church effort by volunteering as often as possible to help host these women during the months of February and March. We open our Fellowship Hall for these women from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and we staff three volunteers for each of the two or four hour shifts.

This creates a challenging requirement to fill up to 17 volunteer spots each day, but with your support as volunteers, we can do it!

One of those volunteer spots is to bring lunch to feed 15 on one of the days we are hosting. You could get a friend or two to help you! Another opportunity is to drive the women at day's end to their overnight shelter location (a one hour commitment).

Joint Youth Group Fundraiser – Evening At The Luau

Sunday, March 25, 5 p.m.

Get your Hawaiian shirts ready! Sunday, March 25, will be an incredibly beautiful evening, when the Almaden Hills Fellowship Hall will be transformed into a tropical paradise. We'll be eating delicious catered food and be entertained by the teens in the talent show! The Joint Youth Group raises most of its money from the auction portion of the evening and all of this funding helps to provide scholarships for every student for camps and mission trips, and makes all events more affordable for everyone. Tickets are $25 each for adults. Child care is $15. Those prices go up to $30 and $20 the week before the event, so get yours early! The youth will be selling tickets on Sundays at church beginning the first week in March, or you may purchase them online.
